About the Position

JV SPEK is seeking to recruit a highly competent, experienced, and results-oriented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all cost and contractual aspects of construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring value for money while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs), and tender documents.
  • Conduct cost planning, budgeting, and financial forecasting for construction projects.
  • Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Administer contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Monitor project costs and prepare regular cost reports and cash flow forecasts.
  • Assess and certify interim payment applications and final accounts.
  • Manage variations, claims, and dispute resolutions.
  • Conduct site measurements and valuations.
  • Provide commercial and contractual advice to project teams and management.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Assist in procurement planning and contract administration activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Construction Economics, Building Economics, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Must be registered with the relevant professional body (ERB, AQRB, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 5 – 7 years’ proven experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
  • Experience in infrastructure, building, road, bridge, industrial, or civil engineering projects will be an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and construction contract administration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying software.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet project deadlines.
